Ahhh, it’s September. Fall is upon us and I am giddy for the month, but before I get ahead of myself let’s talk about summer for a second. Even though I took a beat from writing here, I still maintained my Notion database of projects and goals and made progress on really exciting-to-me things. Here’s what I wanted to do and by golly, all of it was done. A few pics for proof and for fun.
Launch a very, very successful new product at Hummingbirds and do something for/with the creator economy and brands in retail that has never successfully been done or scaled. This is done and live here.

Hang way more art around our house!
Complete three months of my Viome supplements / digestion protocol that one week in has showed incredibly promising.
Get rid of several bins of toys the kids never play with or think about anymore and simplify both of their closets with only the essentials. 🗑️
Incorporate less meat and more plants into my diet (and our family’s!) which is part of my Viome protocol and overall something I’ve been thinking about more and more.
Create the most incredible memories on our family quest from Badlands to Seattle on wheels (biking and car). We went through Yellowstone, Bozeman, Spokane and some other small towns!

Walk! Yoga! Run! Lift! Move my body every single day in a way that is enjoyable.
As we head into September, we’ve got a family trip for the long weekend, I have a couple really big speaking / podcast gigs in LA and I’m seeing Bleachers with Zach for a fun date night in the suburbs!
With only a few weeks home in September, I’m setting a high bar and of course tryyyying to be realistic-ish.
We’ve got home & adult responsibility things that I’ve put on the back burner for a long time and it was creating head trash, I just needed to get it done.
We finally created a will (I know… we should have done it sooner it’s fine it’s fine) and I need to get the paperwork completed and signed.
Similarly, we have all of our passwords in 1Password and I just want them all labeled and consistent across the board for me & Z.
Busting out another quarter of photo organizing. 📸
Then we have some health & wellness things:
I love, love walking and think September is the perfect month to continue getting 10k steps a day. I did a lot of long walks in August taking calls, listening to The Algorithm, and enjoying the company of whoever I could convince to join me. 😄
Add a couple tools to my weekly skincare routines — I love my Solawave skincare wand (anything with wand in its name I’ll keep), my ice roller, my gua sha tool and this new mouthwash I learned about because they talked to our team. For me, it’s less about “more tools” and more of the time for self-care and slowing down in the mornings and evenings.
A couple misc items:
I plan to go through a bunch of items in our cupboards and make meals from them. It’s yet another way to keep purging and get creative!
Start & finish Unreasonable Hospitality on Spotify
Another big part of September is with all my insane travel to LA (I’ll be away from six full days which is LONG) so my loose plan is to take a full “life admin day” towards the end of the month for all those little things… you know what I’m saying right?
I have a few hooks I want to put up, I want to touch up some paint, I want to throw/donate hundreds more toys, I want to swap summer for fall/winter clothes, I want to fill my trunk and go to Goodwill, I want to clean out a few drawers.
Instead of letting those tiny things bother me, guess what? I save them for a day and batch it all.
Alright, we did it. Let’s make September meaningful. ❤️
